Students should be able to pick up a book and read for enjoyment. Students  should be able to understand the narrative of the story and be able to describe the characters and the theme of the story on a deeper understanding .They should appreciate the diverse beliefs and views perspectives and point of views . A big part of English 10 is recognizing that this is the traditional land of the first peoples land . Due to this students should be able to understand the history of the first peoples and be accepting of the diversity and point of views .Students should recognize and appreciate the importance of Canadian text to know the history of Canada . Students should apply appropriate strategies to understand and comprehend oral, written and visual text .Students need to Think critically, creatively, and reflectively to explore ideas within, between, and beyond texts to ensure they do not create bias ideas .
